CIRCULATION INITIATIVE

Set + Structure exists because of waste seen firsthand in the design + fabrication industry.
Our circular system is documented here in full.

01_INTAKE

Every item entering our inventory is logged. All four fields are required before an item enters circulation:

SOURCE

New fabrication, secondhand purchase, production salvage, or Collective trade.
MATERIAL COMPOSITION

Primary materials, listed specifically.

CONDITION AT INTAKE

Assessed on a fixed scale. Structural grade (A–D) and cosmetic grade (A–D) are recorded separately.
ASSIGNED ID

An SS number, issued at intake, that follows the piece throughout the system.

02_CIRCULATION

Rentals, fabrication uses, and Collective exchanges are logged against an item's SSID. Maintenance and repair events are logged against the same ID, building a full condition history for each piece in one place.

03_REVIEW

Items receive light condition reviews after each use. If damage is visible, items are immediately flagged for full review. Full condition reviews — structural and cosmetic grading — run on a recurring cycle across the catalogue, depending on volume. Full reviews are required every ten (10) uses.

04_EXIT

An item’s lifecycle ends in one of three outcomes:

REBUILT

Broken down and remade into a new item. Issued a new SSID with a logged record of every piece it was built from.
RETURNED TO MATERIAL

Broken down into raw material and logged into the Collective ledger as available surplus.

RETIRED AS WASTE

Logged, dated, and reported.

STATUS

This process is active. Reported figures will publish here once a full review cycle has completed.
